Research

To assess the best prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, we must continually enhance our understanding of the human body and the diseases that can affect us.

Research is one of the four main tasks of St. Olav's Hospital. The overarching goal of the university hospital is to provide good and safe patient care. Research should be based on clinically relevant issues, and sufficient expertise should be ensured in all parts of the university hospital. This is achieved through collaboration with NTNU and other relevant institutions.

The Research Department provides a broad regional service and expertise to assist you as a researcher in all phases of a study. Our services are available to employees in the region's health enterprises, NTNU, or Trondheim municipality.
