Our vision is to provide outstanding treatment to the people of Central Norway. Patients will receive the best care, as internationally recommended, within the resources available.
Our goal is for patients and their families to be greeted by competent and service-oriented staff, treated with respect, and experience transparency and effective communication in their interactions with the hospital.

A National leader in Innovation
The quality improvement efforts at St. Olavs Hospital have led to the development of a dedicated innovation programme, which fokuses on four key areas:

• Digitalisation
• Recruitment
Years of systematic focus on innovation have led to significant results. St. Olav was ranked first when the company Induct, on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Care Services, assessed innovation activity in Norwegian hospitals. It was also ranked 41st among the World’s Best Smart Hospitals of 2024.
Each year, we also host the St. Olav Conference, Norway's largest gathering for healthcare and innovation.
