Department of acquired brain injury

The department provides health services to patients with acquired brain injury and their families.
We offer patients customized healthcare throughout the rehabilitation process, and has special services for dependents.
Treatment and patient education takes place in a secure and facilitated environment. The aim is to increase self-help skills, and promote independence, autonomy and ability to master their own lives. Patient participation is central to rehabilitation.
The services are based on collaboration with other support agencies.

The department has status as education unit. That means we often have students in pratice from different disciplines; they be doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists or social workers.

Head of department: Trude F. Sæter
